Lana Loveland
As the organist for the legendary Fuzztones, Lana Loveland is surely familiar to most fans of Garage Rock. Her impeccable credentials also include a stint with 60s Garage icons, the Music Machine, in which she toured extensively before joining the Fuzztones. In 2011 she released her own solo album, «Order To Love», on Germany's Bellaphon label, followed by a promotional tour with her band, Loveland, which, intermittently, featured Fuzztones frontman Rudi Protrudi on bass (he appears on the album as well, as does former Fuzztones guitarist Lenny Svilar).
Despite positive album reviews and enthusiastic audience response, Lana chose to take a brief hiatus from both Loveland and the Fuzztones when, in 2015, she gave birth to Twila May Protrudi, whose famous father continued to tour with the Fuzztones.
It's now 2018 and Lana is returning with a brand new single, «Strange Charms» b/w «Web of Sound» on Hound Gawd! Records. Both self-penned tracks feature Lana on vocals and keyboard, as well as original Loveland member Lenny Svilar who, taking time out from his own project, El Cartel, contributes lead guitar. Protrudi returns to provide bass along with Oli Friedrich, the drummer for Loveland's second line-up rounding out the rhythm section.
Lana will be returning to the Fuzztones for several upcoming shows and will be performing «Strange Charms» as part of their set.
